Maaike（マイケ）はニュージーランドのオークランドに拠点を置き活動しているAbby van SchrevenとEmilie Pullarによるハイエンドウィメンズブランド。

共にファッション業界で働いたのち、他とは違うけれども着たくなるような服を作りたいという共有のモチベーションを持ち、一緒にブランドをはじめた。

オリジナルデザインやどこか風変わりなデザインが好きな幅広い年齢層の女性の為に、 美しくオリジナリティーがありウェアラブルをコンセプトに洋服を作っている。 コレクションは常にシルク素材とのミックスを中心に構成され、黒を基調にしており、そこにビビットカラーや少しダークな雰囲気のオリジナルプリントが組み込まれ、ニュージーランドメイドニットには特に愛着を込めている。

SS2013シーズンでは、彼女たちが大好きな黒に、大胆な金色やポップな蛍光のピーチを取り入れた。2柄あるオリジナルプリントのうち一つはX線モチーフをアイデアに骨の写真をくみあわせて出来ている。もう一つはポップで楽しいグラフィックとなっており、白黒で眼鏡とジグザグの組み合わせ。 切り替えをふんだんに使用し、フィットしたものとオーバーサイズのシルクなどと重ねるなど、独自のレイヤードが楽しめるようになっている。

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Maaike is a high-end womenswear label based in Auckland, New Zealand and represents the creativity of designers Abby van Schreven and Emilie Pullar. After studying in the South Island they both moved to Auckland where they worked in the industry before coming together with a shared motivation to create something different that people would want to wear.

The ongoing vision for the label is to create beautiful, original and wearable garments for a wide age group of women who have a confidence and quirkiness in the way they dress and a love of original design. The collections are always a suprising mixture of dripping silks and more tailored pieces with black being a big focus as well as a strong hit of vibrant colours.

For the upcoming Summer 13 season, the designers continue their love affair with black, mixed with a bold use of gold, teal and a vibrant pop of fluro peach. Two original prints are used, both around the idea of x ray vision. The first being a fluid mixture of x rayed bones that have been mirrored and tiled, while the other a more fun graphic black and white pattern of glasses and zig zags. Paneled and fitted garments are mixed beautifully with oversized silk shapes to create a collection of pieces that work well layered together or worn on their own.
